Tianyu Dong (董天宇), born in 1987, is a full Professor [教授(博导)] in the School of Electrical Engineering at Xi'an Jiaotong University. He is affiliated with the Center for Advanced Electromagnetism and Energy Conversion (CAEMEC, 先进电磁调控技术研究中心), an interdisciplinary center for research and education with an emphasis on electromagnetics, circuits, power electronics, nonlinear phenomenons and renewable energies. He is also affiliated with the State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment (SKLEI), and the State Key Laboratory for Strength and Vibration of Mechanical Structures (MSSV).
Prior to joining XJTU as a tenure-track faculty at the beginning of the year of 2015, he received the BS and PhD degrees from Xi'an Jiaotong University, China, respectively in 2008 and 2014. During the PhD, he spent two years from 2011 to 2013 in the Electromagnetic Communication (EMC) Lab of Electrical Engineering Department at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) in the United States, where he was hosted by Prof. Dr. Raj Mittra. T. Dong was promoted to Associate Professor in December 2017 and has been a tenured Full Professor since December 2023.
Dr. Dong is a member of IEEE and Optica (formerly OSA). He also serves as a reviewer of Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, Journal of Optics, e-FERMAT, etc.
